News Call for Doctoral research grants targeting barley, finger millet, pearl millet and sorghum

This Call for Doctoral Research Grants is being sponsored and supported by the Dryland Cereals Scholarship Program of the CGIAR Research Program on Dryland Cereals (Dryland Cereals) and is designed to increase capacity for research barley, finger millet, pearl millet and Sorghum.

The grants are for a maximum of US$15,000 over a period of two years.

This is to announce a Call for Applicants registered in RUFORUM Regional PhD Programmes for a Doctoral Regional Research Grant to support their doctoral research over two years. These doctoral research grants are to address issues that specifically affect barley, finger millet, pearl millet and sorghum at any one point/s along the value chain from soil fertility to consumption including breeding, agronomy, marketing, processing and information dissemination for uptake.

Applications on-line will close on 30th March 2016, and results of the selection process will be advised by 15 th April 2016. By 30th June, 2016 all grants will be disbursed.
